Bruce
Berman is a Senior Counselor to The PR Consulting Group,
and President and principal owner of Brody Berman Associates, Inc., a
leading public relations and management consulting firm that provides
direct principal involvement. Over the past twenty years Bruce has implemented
marketing, investor relations, and public relations programs on behalf
of more than 200 businesses and partnerships. Representative clients include
technology and healthcare companies, merger and acquisition targets, corporate
departments and divisions, investment bankers and partnerships, owners
of patents and patents portfolios, brands and other IP, and law firms
and practices.
Prior to establishing Brody Berman in 1988, he served as Vice President
- Financial Relations at Ruder & Finn, one of the oldest and largest
public relations consultancies. Previously, he was Vice President at Rubenstein,
Wolfson & Company (now a part of WeberShandwick PLC) focusing on professional
services and investment banking clients.
Bruce’s articles have appeared in numerous periodicals, including The
Internet Letter, The National Law Journal, The New York Times, Managing
Intellectual Property, BuySide and EuroBusiness . He has
additionally been quoted on technology and IP-related issues in media
outlets such as Buyouts, Reuters, Asset Sales Report, BondWeek, Crain's
New York Business, EE Times, The New York Times and PR Week
. He is both editor and contributing author of Hidden Value:
Profiting from the Intellectual Property Economy (Euromoney Institutional
Investor, 1998), and From Ideas to Assets: Investing Wisely in Intellectual
Property , an IP best-seller, of which he wrote significant parts
and also edited for John Wiley & Sons, was published in early 2002.
Bruce is co-chair of the IP Marketing Committee of the Licensing Executives
Society (L.E.S.) and is on the editorial advisory board of Patent
Strategy & Management. Recently, he provided expert witness testimony
in a litigation action involving the misuse of marketing resources.
Bruce is a member of the Business Advisory Board of xpressMD Technologies,
which designs and distributes software applications and platforms for
physician-patient connectivity. He has served as a member of the Board
of Directors of the , urban self-help organization Student Athletes, Inc.,
and as an un-paid advisor to the New York Society of Architects and The
Brookings Institution.
Bruce received
his master’s degree from Columbia University where he also completed course
work and comprehensive requirements for his Ph.D. in film scholarship
and criticism. He received his Bachelor of Arts in American Literature
and Journalism with honors from The City College of New York.
