Financial Literacy Campaign Named Finalist for SABRE Award
NEW YORK, NY (March 1, 2010) – The PR Consulting Group (PRCG) and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) have been named finalists for a national campaign highlighting the importance of financial literacy. The campaign, entitled “Feed The Pig,” focused on educating the public on how to deal with one of the worst financial crises this country has seen since the Great Depression, utilizing thought leadership on a variety of personal financial issues.
“We are thrilled with this prestigious nomination for a campaign that tackled the monumental problem of financial literacy in young people,” said James F. Haggerty, CEO of The PR Consulting Group.
The campaign offered tips, and, in some cases, step-by-step suggestions on how to review one's financial situation and handle a personal financial issues. Some of the topics discussed included: home ownership, tax preparation, debt management, refinancing, retirement planning, preparing for college expenses and everyday, "kitchen table" financial problems.
As part of the program, accountants and financial planners from throughout the country were positioned as thought leaders by explaining financial issues and what they mean for consumers.
The annual SABRE Awards dinner, which is hosted by the Paul Holmes of The Holmes Report, will be held in New York City in May.
